With a mainly Italian clientele, the Sairon Club is a discrete establishment designed for families, and includes a total of 100 apartments each with 1, 2 or 3 rooms. Although all of the accommodation units include a kitchen area, each guest can choose between the residence formula and the hotel formula. Sports enthusiasts will be delighted to learn of the swimming pools and various sports fields here, and there is also an entertainment team on hand. However, although it's beautiful, the hotel's beach becomes extremely crowded in the high season.

    Location 6.56 /10

The Sairon Club is located in Torre dell'Orso, a small seaside resort in the Adriatic coastal region of Salento. This small village doesn't have much to offer in the way of activities, but it's only a 20-minute drive from Ortante and a 40-minute drive from Lecce.
Brindisi airport is approximately 50 mi away, and Bari airport is 120 mi away.

    Accommodation 7.20 /10

The establishment's apartments occupy the 3 first floors of the Sairon Club. There are 125 units, each consisting of 1, 2 or 3 rooms and all include a lounge with a kitchenette. The layout is always the same, and the colour scheme changes slightly from one unit to the next. The decor isn't especially eye-catching, but it is nevertheless pleasant, featuring light wood and pastel tones. The lounge with its kitchenette is generally equipped with a sofa bed, whereas the other rooms are furnished with a double bed or 2 single beds.

The amenities on offer largely depend on the type of formula you've chosen. If you've opted for the residence formula, you'll enjoy total independence and will have to take care of everything yourself, which includes laundry and cleaning. However, if you've chosen the half-board or full-board hotel formula, you'll enjoy all the usual hotel services, including daily cleaning, clean sheets and hospitality products.

The apartments' main asset is their exterior patio (ground floor rooms) or their terrace (first floor rooms) The patio has the added advantage of featuring a barbecue, and an outdoor shower, which is particularly refreshing after a day at the beach. If you're lucky enough to get a corner apartment, you'll enjoy quite a lot of additional space.

    Overview 7.45 /10

Once you've parked your car in the car park, you have to follow various arrows and signposts that show the way to the reception area, concealed at the end of one of the many streets that twist and turn through the well-kept lawns and lead guests to the various parts of the complex. The entrance hall is nicely decorated with dark wooden furniture and a couple of comfortable armchairs, making for a simple and pleasant area.

If you set off to explore the village, simply following the signposts at each roundabout should render it difficult to get lost and you'll quickly discover the two swimming pools of the hotel. The first is a normal swimming pool surrounded by nondescript orange deckchairs, whereas the second boasts a more interesting shape and a nice little wooden bridge. There is a snack bar next to the second pool, where you can have a bite to eat or a drink.

Sports enthusiasts will reassured to hear that the Sairon Club has numerous facilities on offer, which include 2 tennis courts, a multipurpose sports field, a football pitch, two petanque pitches and a gym. There is also an entertainment team that will motivate guests with less energy with a wide range of activities.

A laundrette is also available to guests, which is quite a convenient feature for long stays and family holidays.

    Food and drink 6.70 /10

The Sairon Club essentially serves local food. For lunch and dinner, the menu offers two starters, two main courses (meat or fish) and a dessert, and there is waiter service. As far as beverages are concerned, only wine and water are included in the rate.

    Beach 6.70 /10

Unfortunately, the Sairon Club does not have its own private beach. However, it does stand right next to a public beach which it shares with other hotels of Torre dell'Orso. Every square inch of sand available by the sea is completely taken over by the throngs of tourists who come here during the high season, and especially on weekends.

The beach service is not included in the price, but can be requested when you book your accommodation. However, we recommend you discard this option and avoid the shuttle service provided by the hotel, and instead look for less-frequented beaches.

It's a pity since the beach of Torre dell'Orso is incredibly beautiful.

    To know

The hotel was inaugurated in 1998 and grew rapidly in the 2 years following its opening. It's now a seasonal hotel that welcomes its clientele from May to mid-September. The Sairon Club has a 1-week minimum stay policy.

The establishment was designed to accommodate for families (Italians mostly) and for most of the season it has an entertainment team that livens up the hotel, especially in July and August.

In addition to the price you pay for your stay, there is also the club card to pay for; it costs approximately 32.00 per week and includes the shuttle service that takes you to the beach, the entertainment, and the sports activities. Games and lessons are organised during the day, and there is a final show in the evenings, held in the lovely open-air theatre.

Internet access is available, but you have to pay extra for this service.
    Small pets are allowed.
