To access the 629 rooms, you will have to pass through monotonous-looking corridors. They are not very well soundproofed, but they are very clean and decorated in a modern and coloured manner: beige tiling, furniture in vernished wood, orange trends, replication of Miro... The furniture is new and in good condition. All the rooms are air-conditioned and equipped with a satellite TV, direct international telephone line, refrigerator and a safe (paying). They all offer a small balcony with a complete or partial view of the sea. The bathrooms are equipped with a bathtub, a bidet, a washbasin and toilets. If you want a better panorama, ask for a room located in the buildings 1 or 2 (the closest to the sea).

Built in 1973, the Sol Principe is a large hotelier complex composed by a fully renovated hotel in 2001 and by a hotelier residence, the Principito located behind the complex (see the corresponding sheet). Everything stretches on 5 acres of green spaces. Strictly speaking, the hotel is a total of three buildings including two of 9 storeys and one of 8 storeys, built in 1975 in these days style, which means mainly made of concrete. The lobby is nicer. Once you pass over the large doors, you will discover a large room decorated in red wood, with wrought iron and ratan furniture, plants and artificial flowers. This middle point allows you to enter the living room which serves as a games room, the Ali baba disco in an Arabic atmosphere, the Turkish bar offering live music and happy hour, as well as at the lounge-bar where you can have a cup of coffee, aperitif or play cards. The lounge-bar is extended by a snack area and a patio open in summer time. Outside, there is a large 3,230-foot² pool fitted out with a small island planted with palm trees. All around, you will see grass areas equipped with beach chairs and sunshades which serve as a solarium. Too bad that the coastal road passes right by the hotel! Between the Principito residence and the hotel buildings, you will notice a large 6,460-foot² pool with a kids basin, a multi-sport field (tennis, basketball, mini-foot and volleyball), as well as a stage reserved for the shows and summer animations.

The Sol Principe offers only one restaurant where all the meals are served buffet style. This is a huge dining room, very bright, with standard decoration, which can welcome up to 1,400 guests during summer! Circular bay-windows overlook the pool and host large round tables a little isolated from the rest of the dining room. But the complex is not less noisy here... The choice of the buffet is not really large and the cuisine (local and international) is quite basic. You will see signs explaining, in English and Spanish, the dishes that are presented. A cook also makes meat , fish or grilled vegetables by request. A little away from the dining room, you will find an Italian buffet, with a more charming decoration, offering different Italian specialities like pasta and pizzas (quick-frozen!). The wine menu offers a large choice of Spanish wines. The entire restaurant is non smoking. If you don't want to take your meal during the opening hours of the restaurant, you can always eat at the snack bar offering simple dishes: French fries, meats, hamburgers, sausage, pizzas, chicken...

Playamar public beach is large, far from downtown and it is bordered by a coastal road. A small border separates the sand from the asphalt: it is then necessary to watch over the kids. Less hard-surfaced than in downtown, the surroundings are yet not idyllic. The sand is grey and mixes up with the pebbles and the seashells on the verge of the sea. Even if the beah is very windy, there are not many waves. All the Torremolinos seashore is supervised by life-guards and is full of boat clubs offering water skiing, pedalo, windsurfing or banana. Depending on the season, some of them may also offer upward parachuting and sailing. As for the equipments, you can rent beach chairs and sunshades.

The Sol complex offers different activities both for the hotel's clients and the residence's clients. A team of 8 animators in winter and 14 in summer time is in charge of you during the day and the evening. Besides the sports activities, the games and the competitions, enjoy shows and animated evenings, prepared by the animation team. Programme: music hall evening, dancing competition, Mister and Miss election, flamenco, karaoke...

Familial hotel par excellence, the Principito part is an ideal destination for children with a huge outside and inside playground with Tex Avery decorations. The kids are offered their own information room for the different activities and animations offered.

The clientele is mainly English, Italian and Spanish. Here you will stay in half board of full board.
