    Location 3.0 /10

The hotel is built on the slopes of Trois-Rivieres in a banana grove, opposite the archipelago of Saintes (the landing pier is 5 minutes away). The village of Trois-Rivieres is 3 miles away; Pointe-a-Pitre airport is 25 miles away (45 min).

    Accommodation 7.70 /10

The colonial house has a suite with two doubles and a shared bathroom. The three cottages have two separate rooms, one of which connects with the children's room upstairs. The architecture, in the purest Creole traditional style, is in dark wood, even in the soberly furnished rooms. All have bath or shower, phone, individual air conditioning, panoramic terrace with loungers and a view over the archipelago of Saintes.

    Overview 7.70 /10

It has a superb colonial house dating from 1927 and three cottages recently built in the same style. The whole site is set in a lush park.

    Food and drink 7.95 /10

A good restaurant with Creole and local cuisine prepared with flair by the mistress of the house.

    To know

Le Jardin Malanga is an endearing place, closer to a family-run guest house or chambre d'hote than a hotel. Its location (isolated on the slopes) means it is necessary to hire a car.
There is no beach. The closest is in Grande Anse, 10 minutes by car from Le Jardin. It is one of the most beautiful beaches in Basse-Terre. Its reputation means it is popular with the locals during week ends. Fine sand, waves and small wooden restaurants complete its charm.
