The NH Santo Stefano is new, well located, comfortable and pleasant. It also houses one of the most recently built Turkish Baths to be found in Turin. It is the ideal establishment if you want to spend a romantic and relaxing weekend in the city, and if you enjoy a good view, you are sure to be enthralled by the terrace on the 5th floor.

    Location 7.11 /10

The airport is 12 mi away and it should take a half hour drive to get there, while the NH Santo Stefano is less than a mile away from the TGV station, near the Palatine gates.

    Accommodation 7.70 /10

The NH style is easily recognisable in all 125 rooms of the hotel: dark brown parquet, two small grey armchairs, a large desk and a flat-screen television. The furniture remains simple. However, the spacious walk-in closet is particularly sophisticated. There are round lamps with adjustable luminosity which create different atmospheres, but unfortunately the soundproofing in the rooms is not up to scratch - you can hear cars drive by in nearby streets. As for the bathroom, it holds a little treat for those who spend a lot of time on their hair: there are nozzles on the hair-dryers!It has a rectangular bathtub which is elegant and comfortable, and equipped with a powerful shower. Next to the round double sinks, there is a bidet, and a towel-warming system. The hospitality products are orange and green, with the slightly lemony smells of the NH brand, and they are available in the rooms or on sale at the reception. However, there is a slight drawback in the bathroom: the lights shine directly in your face.

    Overview 8.20 /10

Built for the 2006 Winter Olympic Games, the NH Santo Stefano is part of the 'Collection' line, which is the top of the range of the NH brand. Studio Isola was tasked with the design of the NH Santo Stefano. It is the same studio that undertook the renovation of the district of the Palatine Gates (an ancient working-class district long abandoned). The design chosen for the hotel is reminiscent of the Medieval tower and the Roman gates. The hotel occupies a 5-floor building, with no distinguishing features, that nevertheless blends in seamlessly with the landscape. The entrance hall to the NH Santo Stefano is very surprising though. It is a shaft of light with red bricks, a wooden structure and small windows. It looks strangely like the Mole Antonelliana that houses the Museum of Cinema. A must-see is the panoramic terrace. It affords a spectacular view over the city of the family of Savoy: on one side you can see the historical centre, and on the other you can admire the mountains. For those who want to be pampered, there is the Turkish baths and spa. The basic treatment costs ?27 (there is a 10% reduction for hotel guests), scrub included. More than just traditional Turkish baths, the Hafa also includes a 55C calidarium, a frigidarium with hydro-massage, and a scented shower that changes colour. This beauty centre also proposes traditional treatments as well as North African cosmetic rituals.

    Food and drink 7.95 /10

For breakfast, don't let yourself be fooled by appearances. Even if you are offered an American coffee at the buffet, don't hesitate to ask for a true Italian coffee: cappuccino, macchiato, espresso, lungo? It is the only way here! The American buffet is of good quality, albeit not very copious. The restaurant hall is pleasant and open every day from 12:30pm till 2:30pm and from 7:30pm till 10:30pm, proposing cuisine from the Piedmont as well as international cuisine.
