By the sea, along the north coast, next to Port-Grat bay. Saint-Peter Port and the ferry terminal are 3 miles away (10 min journey) and the airport is 5 miles away (15 min journey).
There are 99 rooms. For families of more than 3, there are 9 rooms sleeping 2 adults and 2 children. Another solution for creating more space: the linked rooms. In terms of size, the standard rooms (for 2 to 3 people) offer approximately 215 ft², but no terrace or balcony. That is particularly regrettable given that the hotel does not look out directly onto any other property, as it is the case in town. Half of the rooms overlook the sea. The others face the pool, the gardens and the neighbouring private properties. Very simple furniture and sufficient level of comfort: television, telephone, tea/coffee kit, bathroom with bath, hairdryer and welcome products. Safe at the reception.
Built in 1989, the Peninsula recently renovated one part of its facilities. This hotel, which used to belong to Novotel, has nothing special, neither inside or outside. It is a 2-storey building, whose sloping roofs are traditional in Guernsey, though there is no slate in sight. On the inside, the reception extends along a vast wood counter to an atrium where wooden furniture patiently awaits a replacement. The restaurant and bar are located on either side of this lounge. Each overlooks a green space. The pool and its gardens for the restaurant. The rest of the property, on the sea side, for the bar. Measuring 66 x 23 ft, the pool is heated by recycling some of the energy from the service quarters. Loungers with mattresses are arranged on the terrace by the waterside.
The main restaurant overlooks the pool. When the weather is nice, tables are placed outside. Breakfast buffet with hot and cold dishes; mixed service dinner: a starter buffet is prepared twice a week, and the main course (meat or fish) is served at the table. When there is no buffet, food is available either as table d'hote or a la carte. The snack lunch area is next to the bar: you can get there via the lobby and have a jacket potato, club sandwich or chips.
All the rooms can sleep three people: each room has a double bed and a convertible single sofa-bed.
It is not possible to bathe along the beach by the hotel grounds: there is no water when the tide is out, and there are seaweed and rocks on the sand. The closest beach for bathing is at Le Grand Havre. It is 10 minutes away on foot. Take towels and parasols because the coast is not equipped. However, the hotel graciously lends its beach toys to children (bucket, spade, rake, ball).
