The oval breakfast room, decorated in shades of beige, is open daily from 6:30 am to 11:00 am and it serves an international buffet. As in the Potsdamer Platz Ritz-Carlton, there are two restaurants here: the Grill and the Aqua. The Grill, a concept restaurant, is open from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm for lunch and 6:00 pm to 11:00 pm for dinner. It serves a 'trio lunch', a meal in a triple dish allowing diners to taste the starter, main course and dessert without waiting in between courses. An example is the cream of chestnut soup, grilled beef steak and crème brûlée.Taking its name from the lake surrounding it, the Aqua restaurant is positioned on a sort of terrace over the water and has a large bay window. To reinforce the theme of transparency, all the tableware is made of glass. Sven Elveferd, one of the most famous chefs in Germany, has headed the restaurant for the past eight years. Originally trained as a pastry chef before working as a chef at the Ritz-Carlton in Dubai, Elveferd has been the making of the Aqua, which he created in 2001. Within 18 months of opening he was awarded his first Michelin star, before receiving a second in 2005 and a third in 2008.'Aqua' is now regarded as one of the best restaurants in the country. It is open in the evening from 6:30 pm to 12:30 am, and closed on Sundays and Mondays.
