The Zodiac is a small establishment with 100 guest rooms that brands itself as a charming little hotel. However, even if its size and lobby have it competing in this category, this is not the case for the entertainment, judging from the deafening music! Built in the 90's, the hotel is currently trying to adopt a new look, from the rooms to the communal areas, under the impetus of a new team that made its debut in 2009. We're anxious to see the result!

Nestled at the heart of the tourist zone of Yasmine Hammamet (the most recent in the region), the Zodiac stands some 200m from the beach. Transfer time from Tunis airport is around 45 minutes, while Monastir airport is around an hour away. You might also be interested to know that the hotel is 2.5 mi from the Citrus and Yasmine golf clubs.
Accommodation

The establishment's 100 guest rooms occupy a 2 storey building. Four categories are available: standard, triple, duplex, and suite. The very old fashioned bed covers, carpets, and curtains will be replaced by duvets, bedspreads, and terribly trendy red and black curtains. As far as amenities are concerned, the hotel has everything a Tunisian 4 star establishment typically has to offer: a television set, a telephone, individual air conditioning, a fridge (if you ask for one), the safe at reception (under £1 per day), and a basic bathroom with a bathtub, standard hospitality products, and a separate toilet. Hair dryers were soon to be added to the list. As for the view, you won't catch a glimpse of the sea... At best, you might see the green expanse of the park or a small batch of blue (the swimming pool)!

From the outside, the building seems to have passed its expiry date, but the interior is refreshing and altogether different. Guest are welcomed into a small entrance hall with a dome ceiling and arcades. The lobby, with its Andalusian architecture, holds the meaning behind the name of the hotel: if you look up, you can see all 12 signs of the zodiac painted on the ceiling. It has nothing to do with the motorboat that goes by the same name then, even though the hotel is just a hop and a skip from the marina! Unfortunately, this original theme is nowhere to be found in the rest of the establishment. Even if the facilities have seen better days, they deserve some credit for their continued existence, not to mention that they are to undergo regular renovations over the coming years. A new mini-club was also in the works during our visit. The entirely purple spa centre includes a rather quaint indoor swimming pool and 6 treatment booths. A plan for expansion includes a water-based treatment room.
Food and drink

The restaurant room hasn't escaped the renovation trend! It used to be purple too, but now it boasts a lovely beige colour. The rest of the decor doesn't really stand out among the neighbouring hotels, except for the orange tablecloths! The buffet is also to undergo a makeover, and show cooking is in the works. The dining room and its terrace can seat 248 guests (which is more than the maximum capacity of the hotel) for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The international buffet includes some 7 hot dishes, and Italian and Tunisian theme evenings are regularly organised. Weather permitting, the snack bar by the pool takes over and serves pizzas, salads, sandwiches, and pasta. As far as bars are concerned, the choice is limited: the lobby, swimming pool, or beach in high season.
Beach

Only 200m separate the Zodiac from the splendid beach of fine sand and crystal clear water. The beach offers everything you may need for a very relaxing afternoon: plastic deckchairs, towels (no deposit!), sunshades... Everything is graciously provided by the hotel. As for the decor, nothing more needs to be said: fine sand and crystal clear water for all! There is also an independent water sports centre where more adventurous guests can pay to try their hand at various activities, including jet-skiing, parasailing, banana boat rides, ringo, and water skiing.
To know
This new management team has shown a lot of initiative: furniture, decor, garden, bathrooms... The new team is also planning to extend the spa centre and to add some 50 rooms to the establishment in 2011. As for entertainment, the Zodiac offers all the usual activities despite a small entertainment team of only 4 members!

Séjour satisfaisant, hôtel propre , personnel, souriant sympathique aimable polit et toujours disponible! les chambres sont spacieuses et propres. Le service et les repas convenables. l'animation est cool... la gymnastique aquatique, la pétanque, les fléchettes... jolie déco pour cette hôtel familiale. Aucun regret . petit travaux sont à envisagés pour les fuites d'eau.Par contre à l'avenir une chambre solo me sera bénéfique.

rapport qualité prix très intéressante .la mer et la plage sont assez proche à 5/10 minutes à pieds
Disavantages
les vendeurs sur la plage privée sont un peut trop collants et vont jusqu'à s'asseoir sur nos transats c 'est abusés! dommage c'est le seul inconvénient sa gâche un peut les vacances!

Hotel en lui même très agréable, avec accueil et personnel charmant,
malheureusement réserve aux jeunes en pleines formes car les lits sont extra durs comme du bois.pas pour ceux qui ont mal au dos encore moins pour les séniors.
Et très bruyant avec la musique des activités en journée assourdissante,le vendredi dès 5h du mat,impossible de faire une grasse matinée ou une sieste.
La piscine intérieure est inutilisable car non chauffée et plus froide que celle de l'extérieure.
Advantages
Nourriture EXTRA, le chef fait même les croissants lui même, beignets, crepes etc le soir choix très variés et excellent.
Personnel très accueillants et sympathiques
Disavantages
lits trop durs
musique assourdissante
piscine intérieure glacée.

Hôtel de très bonne qualité.
Advantages
il y a toujours de l'animation et on n'a pas le temps de s'ennuyer. Pendant la journée il y a beaucoup d'activités différentes et l'équipe d'animation nous prépare chaque soir une super animation

Manque d'entretien: problème de climatisation, état des chambres moyens, propreté laisse à désirer. Nourriture répétitive et douteuse par moment. Une seule piscine pour toutes les activités; animations répétitives et inintéressantes!

Très bon hotel avec une bonne équipe dynamique bien situé
Advantages
Bonne équipe, offre tout compris 250 euros avec avion demi pension pour une semaine. Pas cher, propre. La femme de ménage passe tous les jours et a toujours des attentions (fleurs sur le lit etc)

Super sympa, bonne ambiance, chambre spacieuse et 2 piscine idéale pour les enfants pour celle de l'intérieur, à recommander
The Marco Polo gathers many possibilities for entertainment in a very neat environment. Night owls meet at the night club, children will enjoy the mini-club, and the others will practice sports or will relax as they wish.
This hotel is located near the marina of Yasmine Hammamet, and is ideal for a thalassotherapy therapy. On the agenda are relaxation and conditioning, to get oxygenated at the edge of the Grande Bleue.
A hotel for young people who like to party late. Families won't feel comfortable, the tourists who came to rest will leave even more tired than before and the English will have to use their Spanish. Room for the young!
Built in 2000, this modern hotel is an ideal spot for a pleasant holiday in one of the main tourist districts of Hammamet. Although it does not have direct access to the beach, it does offer all the facilities you would expect to find in a large beachside hotel.

Standing just a few hundred metres away from Carthage Land amusement park, the Lella Baya hotel seems to have been designed by the same architect. The decor may therefore seem as if it were made out of paper mache but the amenities are nothing to be ashamed of: a large thalassotherapy centre, a wide choice of activities, large outdoor and indoor pools, etc. All of this just a few metres away from the beach. This hotel is perfect for small and big children alike!
