Very different from the other hotels of the Zarzis zone, the Sultana Residence is recommended for a stay in a peaceful, original and refined atmosphere.
On the seashore, 6 miles away from downtown Zarzis, and 28 miles away from Djerba airport. Allow for a 45 minute transfer.
The 12 rooms of the Sultana are located on the ground and first floors. Each has a particularity: canopy bed, furnishing on two levels, jacuzzi or terrace with view of the sea. If the availability allows it, ask to visit several rooms and choose one according to your taste. 4 room overlook the sea, the others overlook the swimming pool, the gardens or the neighbouring properties.
Chosen carefully, the furniture is made of wood or wrought iron. Wooden garden furniture is installed on the terrace. The bathroom is equipped with a bathtub (with jacuzzi in 3 of them) or a shower (in 2 rooms). As for the surface, accommodations are divided into 6 double rooms of 215 square feet, and 6 suites of 322 to 430 square feet, able to welcome up to 4 persons.
The rest of the features includes air conditioning, a safe, a mini-bar, a telephone (through the operator), and a television.
Two-story white building organised around a patio housing a swimming pool, the Sultana presents a typical decoration which will please art and Tunisian craft amateurs. Its lounges are in orange velvet, and are located in the extension of the front desk, in front of the bar dugged with niches which are painted in bright colours. On the walls you can see art from Zarzisian painters. Outside, the 2,100 square feet swimming pool is extended by a terrace and small shaded lawns where you can relax on a wooden deckchair. The garden furniture placed under the pergola completes the decor.
The service of the Sultana's restaurant is done at the table, with an elaborate menu based on seasonal products. The room extends on a terrace shaded with acacias and tamarisks, and by a space made of one floor that is used to dine in open sky. Fitted out with wrought iron tables and chairs, the room offers an elegant and attractive atmosphere. Two bars, one of which is located in the restaurant and the other one in the lounges next to the front desk, are available to have a drink before and after meals.
The beach outside the Sultana stretches over 262 feet in length and 164 feet in width. Since many algae pile up on the seashore, a pier has been built to swim or tan without being bothered. Straw sunshades are available as well as wooden deckchairs. It is possible to rent beach towels. In return, the hotel does not offer water sports.
Located in an old private villa, the Sultana residence belongs to the few charming addresses in the Djerba Zarzis zone.
Its 12 rooms have a personalised decoration. The environment assures calm and tranquility: there are no big hotels around the Sultana, but individual houses.
Beside a swimming pool and a hammam, this facility does not have any leisure infrastructure. It is recommended to couples rather than families, as it does not have any equipment for children.

This friendly club offers comfort and quality conforming to its class. A privileged address for its affordable prices.
The Eden Star is located in Zarzis, on one of the most beautiful coasts of the island of Djerba. Because of its new thalassatherapy centre, it is perfect for clients looking for relaxation.
The Zita Beach is to be recommended to young people in the summer so that they can have fun at an affordable price; and to anyone else in the winter so that they can spend time in a health spa by the Mediterranean without busting their budget. The health spa offers balneotherapy, as opposed to thalassotherapy, which means that it uses freshwater for treatments, with added seasalt and seaweed. There is also the offer of a thermal course and a therapeutic pool with iron-bearing water jets, recommended for relieving rheumatoid arthritis. One thing to note: if you are sensitive to noise, request a room away from the pool area - this will prove to be a peaceful option, provided the hotel is only half full, say with about 750 guests present.
The Aquatour Oasis Marine opened in 1981, but thanks to frequent renovation work it doesn't look its age. The hotel offers bungalows or standard rooms, and guests can enjoy a relaxing day by the new swimming pool or the numerous activities put on by the entertainment team. The Aquatour is well suited for all types of holiday. Located in Zarzis, it's only a very short journey from the southern part of Tunisia. The only snag for those who have come here in search of peace and quiet is that the hotel has a full capacity of 700 guests, without even counting the number of children!
The Iberostar Safira Palms was built in 2008 and has the quirky appearance of a castle. This original decorative theme, which some guests may find a touch kitsch, can be seen in the communal areas, from the external facade to the Moorish cafe. The rooms, on the other hand, contain a more understated design. The hotel's waterfront location is ideal for families, who will find no end of activities to fill their days.
Located at the gateway to Southern Tunisia, literally two Turkish-slippered steps away from a beautiful beach, the Eden Beach hotel does not pretend to be more luxurious than it actually is. There is no ostentatious luxury here: simplicity reigns supreme. Nevertheless, the hotel has nothing to blush about in terms of facilities; its services are well worthy of a three-star hotel by Tunisian standards. Its good value for money makes it worth recommending to any kind of clientele.
The lively Odyssee Resort & Thalasso, standing almost on the beach, has now been part of the Eldorador group since 2009. Although it cannot be considered a club hotel, the great variety of activities and general entertainment it puts on, whether for children or adults, makes it a fabulous place. The cherry on the cocktail that you can sip on the beach is its thalassotherapy centre, which was awarded third place in the ranking of Tunisian centres.
