87 miles southeast of the capital, Thorsmörkest Valley is most loved by Icelanders. They spend their summer weekends in the area (the park is inaccessible in winter). The park and its glacier are inaccessible with a normal vehicle. The path is dotted with several water courses (about twenty watches in all). It is an ideal site for more or less long walks, from 1 to 8 hours (with stopovers in refuges).
