Discover The Varanasi Temples India

There are a multitude, or to be more exact, nearly a thousand, religious buildings in the city of Varanasi (also known as Benares). However, some of them are not open to the public. The Kashi Vishwanath, for example, is the main temple dedicated to the god Shiva, but is only open to Hindus. The Durga Temple is also closed due to the violent monkeys that live there. Nevertheless, the Tulsi Manas Temple is open and can be visited without any worries. It is dedicated to the Mmdieval artist Tulsidas, and traces the history of this period. The Alamgir and Aurangzeb mosques display an interesting mix of Hindu and Muslim architecture.
