Located far to the north of the island, Lovina is a small seaside resort that is a good decision if you have the chance to pay a visit to the island. However, an "ordinary" hotel and narrow beaches covered with black sand do not make the site particularly attractive for a prolonged stay.
The small boats floating out in the sea during sunset can bring you a magic moment in the middle of the dolphins. This attraction is highly reputed at Lovina and we strongly recommend it to you. Of course, the dolphins appear in 80% of the cases... but the sunset on the sea water is worth whatever the cost. On the other hand, scuba-diving sites are so numerous at Lovina. Enjoy them, the seabed there is fabulous.
Few excursions are organised in the region, but the road leading from Candidasa to Lovina Beach reveals some beautiful scenery, especially on Mount Agung. Also, do not miss go to the temple of Budugul, on the road that goes down to Kuta.
Rent a bike! The area around the city. The road between Kalibukbuk Singaraja is very pleasant to sightsee on a bicycle.
Rental opportunities are numerous. Whether it is a bicycle, a scooter or a car, you will find whatever you need. Renting at the hotels costs more, so do not hesitate to go to small local agencies.
Here you will find many restaurants to sit down and enjoy Indonesian cooking. This place is not known for local culinary specialties, but the local food pleases the palate. As for the restaurants, we recommend Lumbung Café, located on the road leading to Puri Bagus. Note that the happy hour is valid here for a drink!
You will certainly find on the main streets your special little gifts to bring back home. Nothing special, these souvenirs are sold all over the island.
