Cremona

Our Editorial team's advice

At 111 metres high, Torrazzo offers a beautiful panorama of Cremone, the city of which it has become the symbol. This imposing crenellated tower is located in the Piazza del Comune, surrounded by the monuments of the medieval city. There is the typical octagonal-shaped baptistery and the cathedral, an example of Romano-Lombard architecture which boasts a wonderful series of fresco paintings on the walls of its central nave. Painted between 1514 and 1522, it is the work of artists such as Bembo, Boccaccino, Romanino and Pordenone. A city which is permeable to all forms of art, Cremone is famous throughout the world for its production of string instruments. The birth place of Stradivari, the Communal Palace has some of the most beautiful violins in the world.
