The National Park of the Sibylline Mountains in Visso includes 18 different towns, 16 of which are part of the Marche region in the province of Macerata and Ascoli Piceno. The remaining two belong to the province of Umbria around Perugia. In wild natural surroundings, on harsh summits that can sometimes exceed 2,000m, wolves, wild cats, and pilgrim falcons can all be found around the mountains. Lake Pilate, on Vettore Mount, Gola dell'Infernaccio (Hell's Gorge), and Fiastrone Valley are only some of the few ?must see' places in the kingdom of Sibyl, the former prophetess who lived here.
