Venosa Italy

Discover Venosa

Named Venusia by the Romans, perhaps in honour of Venus, the goddess of love, the Venosa of today is a picturesque village in the province of Potenza. Near the Trinità church complex, which was never fully completed, the remains of the old Roman town were unearthed. You can just imagine the structure of the amphitheatre and the thermal baths when you visit. After visiting the Archaeological Park, you will not want to miss the Castello Aragonese and a walk around the streets of Venosa, which was the birthplace of the poet Horace and has a place on the list of the 'most beautiful villages in Italy'.
