Discover The Dana Reserve Jordan

Find the hidden gem that is Jordan's largest nature reserve and stay at the refurbished 15 th century stone village overlooking the breathtaking valleys below. While you're there be sure to hike the red sandstone cliffs and keep an eye out for over 25 endangered species of mammals in their protected environment.

Covering a surface of more than 116 mi˛, the Dana Nature Reserve brings together marvellous landscapes and diverse fauna. Here you will discover the Rummana Mountains, the red and white tinted cliffs of Wadi Danam, and, of course, a beautiful setting surrounded by the Rift Valley and the desert plains of the Wadi Araba.

The reserve includes 4 different ecosystems and 600 varieties of plants. Its peaks rise 1,800m and its lowest point is 50m below sea level. In terms of the fauna, there are plenty of birds here (more than 200 species have been listed), as well as reptiles and a few mammals like: the ibex, the gazelle, the Syrian wolf and even the hyena.
