Mount Elgon is part of a national park bearing the same name, certainly one of the least famous in Kenya partly due to its distance. This old volcano reaches a height of 14,175 feet and its summit is called Wagagai. Two other peaks, Koitoboss and Lower Elgon, measure 13,638 and 14,105 feet respectively. The Elgon national park might be home to less animals than other, more famous parks, however it does shelter wild boars and baboons and the vegetation is luch and dense. Do not miss a tour in the park caves where you'll spot majestic elephants.
