Discover Sahara wildlife Libya

The Libyan Desert has typically Saharan wildlife such as the fennecs, desert monitors, sand fish and dangerous sand vipers which live in the ergs, while dorcas gazelles and poisonous sand scorpions prefer the wadis (Arabic for valley). Turtledoves, green mantises and Moila grass snakes live in the palm groves. Contrary to preconceived ideas, several bird species live in the Sahara (swallows and swifts in the oases, raptors and larks).
