The geological phenomenon of soil colour shades can be seen in Chamarel, in the south west of the island. On one of the hills, the soil shows dozens of different nuances depending on the light - shades of red, yellow, ochre and orange; it is a spectacular show which bursts with natural beauty in the evening.
