The northern coast of Mauritius is the one most popular with tourists. There are more days of sunshine here than on any other of the island's coasts. Less exposed to the wind, it receives less rain and has the highest temperatures all year round. It makes sense, then, that the biggest concentration of hotels on the island is found here, particularly in the Grand Baie seaside resort and its proximity. From the smallest little boutique hotel to the largest luxury establishment, you will not have a lack of choice. To go swimming, the long beaches of Mont Choisy and Trou aux Biches are enough to make anyone back home jealous. However, the beaches in the far north, such as Grand Gaube and Cap Malheureux, are a lot less practical because of the rocks and their limited size. On the other hand, the hotels here are located in the most beautiful spots along the shore.
