Historical dates

1852: Montenegro is declared a principality
1878 : Montenegro obtains official recognition at the Congress of Berlin
1905 : Adoption of the first Constitution of Montenegro
1910 : Montenegro is declared a monarchy
1918 : Montenegro becomes part of the kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes (Yugoslavia)
2006 : Following the referendum of 21st May, Montenegro renews its status as a state and on 28th June its independence is recognised by the UN.
