Gwyneth Paltrow embarks on a wellness cruise with Celebrity Cruises for her lifestyle brand Goop

Having launched her lifestyle brand Goop in 2008, Gwyneth Paltrow announced two weeks ago on Instagram that they were going to partner with Celebrity Cruises for an 11-night wellness cruise.

The cruise will go from Barcelona to France, the Mediterranean and the Italian Riviera on a Celebrity Apex from August 26 until September 6. The one-day experience "Goop at Sea" will take place on August 30 and will focus on wellness and travel, with sessions centered around the mind, the body and the soul.

Goop's brand DNA is based on curiosity, and curiosity is an essential component of travel," Paltrow said in a statement. "With Goop at Sea, we'll be invoking that adventurous spirit with a series of transformative experiences led by a few of our most-trusted wellness practitioners and healers."

Along with experts discussions about emotional and physical health and wellness, participants can expect various wellness activities, such as spa time and yoga classes, delicious and healthy food, meditation and of course a presentation by Paltrow herself about her own wellness journey and the lessons that she learnt from it.

If "Goop at Sea" only lasts for a day, the theme will remain throughout the whole cruise with menus curated by Goop's food editor and pop-up wellness experiences throughout the cruise.

And even if they do not know what will happen after this first collaboration, the partnership between the two brands has worked very well according to both parties.

"Every aspect of the Edge Series award-winning design and the curated onboard offerings have been designed to bring the outside in, making the ship a wellness retreat in its own right," Peter Giorgi, Celebrity's vice president and chief marketing officer, said. "It makes for the perfect setting for our partnership with Goop and the first ever Goop at Sea experience", he added.

Paltrow also said that "if it resonates for the guest and it feels like a good (collaboration), then it's definitely a partnership (they)'d like to expand on for sure".

Tickets for the day are available for an additional $750 (£574) to guests who book suite accommodations while suites for the 11 night cruise start at $5,418 (£4,149) on Goop's website. The ship can hold about 2,900 passengers and even features a rooftop garden.
