A summer stroll around Central Park or New Year's in snow-dusted Times Square have never been more accessible with Norwegian's new bargain £69 flights to New York from Edinburgh and Belfast. Don't hang about - bag the deal before it's gone by 11pm tonight!
An introductory deal from Norwegian Air is offering flights to the US from as little as £69 one way for departures from July 2017 until February 2018. Flights will leave from Edinburgh and Belfast to New York's Stewart International, Rhode Island's Providence and Connecticut's Bradley International Airports.
The flight deals come as part of an introductory offer from Norwegian on its 10 new US flight routes from various destinations in Europe, and will expire at 11pm on 24 February. According to the airline, over half of these bargain tickets have already been snapped up.
The airline has recently launched ten new routes and 38 weekly international flights, undercutting prices and setting the bar high for other transatlantic competitors. For a flight from Edinburgh to New York with Norwegian Air in June 2017, the lowest price on offer is £141, while the same route with British Airways will set you back a minimum of £1,250.
"Our planes are very, very fuel efficient and we have a totally different set-up to other airlines. The Boeing 737 MAX has a very modern engine," said Norwegian CEO Bjorn Kvos.
Norwegian Air will have low cost flights from Belfast to New York and Boston from July... A travellers dream!
"This is how we do it, instead of spending huge amounts on marketing. People really pay attention and you get word of mouth for people wanting to try your product."
The carrier maintains a no-frills policy whereby carrying baggage, choosing a seat and receiving an on-board plane meal will cost you extra for its long-haul flights. Checking in one suitcase will set you back around £25, whilst passengers will also be asked to pay for food and drink, and other perks such as headphones and blankets. Still, it seems like a no-brainer to us. See you across the pond!
