If you live outside of France there is a chance you have not yet heard the about the joyous event that has thrilled the Beauval Zoo. As the entire country waited with baited breath, Huan Huan, the female panda on loan from China, finally gave birth. This "Mini-Huan Zi" is the first of its species to be born on French territory, and is naturally is at the center of a lot of hopes.

If you had decided to go to the Beauval Zoo and admire this adorable creature over its first 95 days, here's what you would've seen. It's the first week that's the most difficult for a baby panda. Very fragile and defenseless, it's still just a small pink ball. The black and white coloring begins to develop after 15 days and the fluffy appearance that we know and love begins to emerge after 35 to 40 days. How can this not make your heart melt?
