Museums all over the country have already signed up for the event. Some of the museums include the California African American Museum in Los Angeles, the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum in New York City, the Gibson House Museum in Boston, the Blues Hall of Fame in Memphis and many more. The list of participating institutions is regularly being updated, you can keep track of the ones participating near you here. The event has partnered with Quaker this year in order to create a back-to-school giveaway. The giveaway gives a chance for children to win one of 100 Smithsonian science kits per day. Teachers also have a chance to win a grand prize alongside school children, they could win a private Q&A with a museum education or a cultural field trip for their class. One ticket is available per email address and will grant access for the holder and one guest. You can find out more on the Smithsonian website.
