Discover La cathédrale d'Oliwa à Gdansk Poland

It has to be said that religious art can be found everywhere in Poland, but if you ask the inhabitants of Gdansk to name just one site that must be seen, most of them will tell you to take a walk around the Oliwa Archcathedral. Walk around? Yes, because the cathedral is at the heart of a magnificent park where newlyweds have their pictures taken after exchanging vows.

Half of the park is a reconstruction of a French-style garden while the other half is an English garden; it's up to you where you want to concentrate your time!

Of course the real surprise is in the cathedral itself: not only does its construction date back to the 8th century, its particularity is that it is home to one of the most impressive organs in Europe. The organ consists of over 8,000 pipes and when it is played, little angels come to life and dance around their trumpets. In summer, daily concerts are held here at midday and in winter they are held once a week, generally on Saturday. These concerts are free all year round.
