Discover Peterhof Palace Russia

Situated 18 miles from St. Petersburg, on the Gulf of Finland, Peterhof Palace is nicknamed the 'Russian Versailles'. In 1717, after having visited Versailles, Peter the Great entrusted French architect Jean-Baptiste Leblond with re-designing the gardens of the domain, and then in 1745 Elisabeth asked Rastrelli to extend the palace. Inside the Grand Palace, you can visit the Oak Study of Peter the Great, the Crown Chamber, the Picture Hall, the Ballroom and the amazing Chinese Cabinets. The park is a genuine marvel full of terraces, waterfalls, statues and fountains, and lined with several pavilions (the Palaces of Monplaisir and Marly).
