Our Editorial team's advice

North Island, located a few miles north of Silhouette, is a fertile land that is home to one of the most luxurious hotels in Seychelles hidden in the forest of takamas. The island is a true sanctuary for fauna and flora. A specialist organises walks revolving around the plant life and bird life. North Island measures 506 acres: it is 2 miles long and 1.5 miles wide. It is one of the few granite and hilly islands in the Seychelles. There are three different hills here, with the highest one, Grand Paloss, rising 180m. This private island is run by the South African company, Wilderness Safaris.

To bring back

The souvenirs made of coconut, including the famous Coco de Mer, which must be given with an official certificate to leave the country since it is a necessary document if you want to bring them back to Europe. You will also find paintings, sculptures, gold and silver jewellery, bamboo objects, and clay.
