29 miles South of the capital, the city of Aranjuez is located in a fertile plain through which runs the Tagus. With its Royal Palace, this ancient summer residence for the Bourbon Family is one of the most important monumental and artistic sites of Spain. The throne room and its beautiful tapestry works, the Porcelain (china) room and the Arab style smoking room are unmissable. Yet the city is first of all famous for its superb gardens and beautiful fountains.
