Cala Portinatx

By Amy Adejokun Amy Adejokun Section editor

Our Editorial team's advice

The bay of Portinatx is located in the northeast of Ibiza, 17 miles from Ibiza Town, the capital, and has a well preserved rocky and wooded coastline.

To see

In the evening, you may get the chance to see dolphins! Playa de Roca Beach.

To do

Snorkelling, kayaking and windsurfing.

pros

  • +  The superb natural site.
  • +  The beautiful, well preserved coves.

cons

  • -  The beaches are small, crowded, rocky and difficult to access.
  • -  The remote location, far from the capital Ibiza Town and the airport.

To think about

Remember to pack sandals, especially for Playa de Roca Beach, as there is no sand, only rocks! Some coves can be accessed by rocky dirt tracks. Don't tempt fate, park your car a bit further away. This will avoid any punctures, and enable you to explore these wonderful places on foot, without your car spoiling the landscape.

To avoid

Beware of the rocks!
