Between Colonia Sant Jordi and Cala Mesquida is a series of isolated calas (coves), which are often hard to reach. The seaside resort of Calas de Mallorca is located on the east coast of the island. The Cala Domingos is a beautiful cove surrounded by cliffs. Its beach is equipped with showers, deckchairs and straw parasols (at an extra charge). You can also hire pedalos. The area is sheltered and there is no current. You can safely swim in these clear waters. Calas de Mallorca is also home to other coves, such as Cala Antena. Calas de Mallorca is a very touristy seaside resort with many shops, bars and restaurants, but as everything is man-made and there are no authentic villages, everything is closed between November and March!
Apart from going swimming at the beach, there is not much to do. In the evening, head to one of the many bars where you will find lots of other English people. Order a pint and sing with a Robbie Williams look alike!

There is not much to do in Calas de Mallorca, Hire a car and head off to explore Majorca. Most of the hotels in Calas de Mallorca have an all-inclusive option, and some guests have a tendency to think that this still applies on the beach! Hence the notices on the bars stating: 'not all-inclusive'! A small train (charged extra) runs between the beach and the hotels, but it is nicer to walk via the seafront promenade (the paseo), a steep pedestrian walkway along the cliff. Or why not cycle? In some hotels bikes are available free of charge! Try not to get sunburnt. Avoid visiting Cala Domingos Beach in summer. It is fairly small and therefore very crowded!
