To aficionados of archaeology, Castile-León is probably one of the regions with the most relics. 'Pallozas' are another particularity of the region: they are buildings that you will not find anywhere else in Spain.
The landscapes of Castile-León are characterised by an impressive body of mountains. The Peaks of Europe boast some of the most exceptional landscapes in the region and provide a habitat for the flora and fauna of León.
Castile-León boasts a great number of cathedrals: from Segovia to Avila, and from the cathedral of Burgos de Osma to the cathedral of Ciudad Rodrigo, they each have their own character. Some cities, like Salamanca, even have 2 cathedral-type churches. Having said that, the imposing Cathedral of León, the Cathedral of Burgos, a magnificent example of gothic style, and the exceptional cathedral of Astorga set themselves apart.
As far as landscapes are concerned, the Salto del Nervión and the Nature Area of Yecla are undoubtedly the region's two most remarkable sites. Let yourself be carried away to the heart of these landscapes!
