This region of the Catalonian Pyrenees is divided into two parts; the southern lower Cerdanya on the Spanish side, and the northern upper Cerdanya on the French side. This is an exceptional region that should ideally be visited 4 times a year, as each season offers its own breathtaking landscapes. Furthermore, the activities on offer change with the seasons: snow sports, thermal springs, trekking, sightseeing, etc. The region features an impressive wealth of ecology and nature, as well as numerous villages of cultural significance boasting architectural (local and Romanesque) qualities and rich traditions. There are many thermal springs that are ideal for a relaxing dip after a day spent discovering the beautiful surrounding region. All the villages in this area are highly welcoming, but Bellver de Cerdanya stands out as being the best suited to relaxation. The culinary traditions reflect the diversity of Catalonian cooking and local traditions, and make abundant use of seasonal products.
