El Atazar primarily stands out for the diversity and wealth of its countryside and landscapes. The rivers of Riato and Lozoya run in meanders and in addition to constituting a beautiful sight, they serve as home to varied local fauna and flora. The El Atazar reservoir is the second largest in Europe and the main source of water for the entire region. It provides the perfect starting point for discovering the surrounding area, particularly the many streams that run from it, and for observing the Sierra del Rincón, the Montes Carpetanos, the Pic de la Miel and the Peñalara. Santa Catalina church and the typical buildings of the region are all worth a visit. Located in the village of El Atazar, they serve as residences to the people who work in the local farms.
