The prettiest and most impressive beaches in Fuerteventura can be found on the Jandia Peninsula in the far south of the island. Towards the isolated lighthouse of Punta de Jandia lies an untamed coast, just like on the western part of the peninsula. The symbol of the city is a large white lighthouse overlooking the ocean. Thanks to the constant trade winds from April to October, Jandia is renowned for being one of the best spots in the world for sailing and kitesurfing.
A kitesurfing paradise! In July and August, the famous beach of Jandia, which stretches for almost 16 miles from Morro Jable to Costa Calma, hosts the World Championships.
The huge beach of Jandia, one of the most beautiful on the island. The magnificent Esquinzo Beach. The village and harbour of Morro Jable. The isolated lighthouse of Punta de Jandia. The large white lighthouse, symbol of Jandia, overlooks the ocean. The lively bars, restaurants, shopping centres and nightclubs in the seaside resort of Jandia.
Jandia is practically the furthest area from the airport, which is located 53 miles north, not far from the capital, Puerto del Rosario. Unsurprisingly, it takes just over an hour to get there via the motorway. This part of the island is fairly windy, making it ideal for windsurfing but not necessarily for swimming.
Avoid swimming alongside kiteboards, as this can be dangerous!
