The city of Segovia is built on top of a rocky promontory separating two rivers. The Alcazar overlooks the whole city. On the opposite side, a Roman aqueduct, built at the end of the First Century AD., spreads over more than 800 m. Some of the 128 arches can be as high as 29 m. Its important Cathedral, its remarkable Romanesque churches, and its various convents and monasteries are also part of its historical richness. The city gets lively in the evenings around the Plaza Mayor.
