After San Sebastián, the town of Zarautz is the second biggest draw for tourists in the Guipúzcoa province. However, its beach is the best in the whole province. It matches La Concha for style, and is dotted with little blue and white striped huts. It is a safe destination for surfers. The seafront is very lively and stretches from the 'Palacio de Narros' to the restaurant of famous chef Karlos Arguiñano. It must be said that you will eat incredibly well at Zarautz, like in all of the Basque Country. As well as visiting the famous vineyards where Basque wines are produced, you can also sample excellent txakoli. Walking along the promenade from Zarautz to Getaria is a great idea. Weather permitting, the cliff walk from Deba to Zumaia is recommended for its spectacular geological sights including rugged cliffs and boulders that have broken off and tumbled into the sea.
