Discover Skansen Museum

Located at the heart of Stockholm, the Skansen Museum takes you back in time. This open air museum consists of 150 houses, workshops and chalets dating back to the 18th and 20th centuries. This group of buildings forms a small town, which is fascinating to walk around. The houses, formerly owned by different social classes, come from several regions of the country and you are free to enter them and discover how the people lived and worked in the past. The second attraction of the museum is its zoological park. It houses elk, reindeer, lynxes, brown bears, wolves and several other species. As for the aquarium, it is home to two hundred exotic species. The Swedish love to meet up at Skansen because of the numerous events that are held there. In June, there is a summer festival of singing and dancing. During the rest of the year, concerts, Christmas markets, traditional Christmas celebrations and New Year's Eve parties grace this impressive museum.
