To the north of Basseterre, the area reputed to be the wildest area on the island, Deshaies is a tiny village of Creole huts installed against the cliffs, facing the Caribbean Sea. It is conveniently located a few dozen minutes by car from the beach of Grande Anse, deemed the most beautiful of Basse-Terre.
The trips that are offered the most often is a mini-cruise for a whole day to the island of Marie Galante. On Basse-Terre : one day in 4X4 on the theme of nature (rain forest, excursion to the foot of the Soufrière volcano, the Carbet waterfalls, bathing in a waterfall); a day by 4X4 (visit a rum distillery and a banana grove). And for sports: canyoning, rambling, horse-riding in the forest.
