The mystical island of Cyprus where Aphrodite, the Goddess of Love and Beauty was born, beckons you with its beautiful spa hotels dotted all over the island. However there are fewer to choose from than at our previous destinations. Cyprus is a relatively undiscovered destination for a spa holiday, but well worth a visit! The services can be quite basic, but always worthwhile. Expect to pay 20 to 30 Euros for an essential oil massage. Five star hotels are usually better when it comes to choosing a spa. We liked Elysium Hotel in Paphos. The spa treatments recall ancient Cypriot traditions such as 'Opium hot springs' along with the various treatment rooms complete with whirlpool baths, swimming pool and steam baths. Five star hotels can be very costly here, so if you are trying to work to a budget, think about heading over in low season, from November to March (and outside Christmas holidays). Otherwise the hotel site has some great deals, so keep your eyes peeled.
