A closer look at British Airways' new economy menus

BRITISH AIRWAYS: Since May 12, the airline has been offering 'gourmet' menus to its customers who fly long-haul in economy class. Naturally, we took a closer look.

Fed up with the standard fare on your long-haul BA flight? Well now the airline is offering gourmet meals, on a pre-order basis, for customer's who fancy something a bit more refined. The meals are available to order up to 30 days before departure, on flights from London Heathrow to 10 selected destinations. Scroll down for the airline industry's best attempt at food porn...

Starter: Poached king prawns with sliced mushrooms, lightly dressed in a traditional marie-rose sauce
Main: Braised Herefordshire beef cheek with potato mousseline, roasted root vegetables and Madeira shallot jus
