The festive season is almost upon us, and America has all the Christmas magic you could need. So settle back by the fire, fill up your stockings, and have a read of our state-by-state guide to an all-American Christmas.

    Not far from the Huntsville Space and Rocket Centre, Huntsville Botanical Garden's Galaxy of Lights offers a drive through show that is out of this world. Don't forget the Tinsel Trail at the Big Spring International Park, an eye-catching display of Christmas trees for the community to enjoy.

    Anchorage has to be one of the best places in Alaska to participate in Christmas festivals. These include the Christmas Arts and Crafts Emporium, the Holiday Train on the Alaska Railroad, and even the Family Holiday Pops Concert. From there, you can take the Aurora Winter Express to Fairbanks, where the natural Christmas lights are at their best.

At the Riordan Mansion State Historic Park, peruse the lovely Victorian era holiday decorations and traditions.
