There are some places in the world that are just magical. They have an intangible fairytale feel that's hard to describe. In fact that fantasy feeling can only be described as Disney! So we've collected some of our favorite Disney locations in the world.
Neuschwanstein Castle, Germany
Neuschwanstein is Europe's most popular castle. 1.4 million people visit "the castle of the fairy king" every year, with a steady stream of 6,000 visitors making their way through the rooms every day in the summer. Before it was opened to the public, however, it had been intended as the "Shy king's" retreat to allow an escape from public life. Still secluded and idyllic, this castle is certainly worth the visit.
Zhanjiajie, Hunan Province, China
Draped in wisps of clouds, the karst landscape of Zhangjiajie is otherworldly. It also sustains a plethora of vibrant flora and fauna, and is so inspiring that James Cameron based the Hallelujah Mountains on the stone forests. As if this wasn't enough prestige, it was also recognized as a UNESCO Global Geopark in 2004.
Sea of Stars, Maldives
The Maldives offers peerless stretches of white sands and jaw dropping views of the Indian Ocean, all of which simply ooze magic. But at night, the ocean is illuminated with thousands of shimmering lights in the gentle waters. The "Sea of Stars" spectacle is technically known as bioluminescence, and is the result of marine organisms called phytoplankton emitting light when disturbed, resulting in thousands of pinpricks of light amongst the watery noir.
Bagan is a mystical mix of ancient temples, tropical conditions, and Buddhist culture. An atmospheric destination that should be on everyone's list magical travel list.
The Isle of Skye, Scotland
The Isle of Skye is permanently away with the fairies. Secluded and peaceful, it also enjoys a wide number of attractions, including the Fairy Pools, Fairy Glen, the Old Man of Storr, and Dunvegan Castle. Not so far away is Eilean Donan Castle, which is equally breathtaking.
