With the quarantine going strongly, pretty much everyone is going on intense Netflix binge sessions... But being in lockdown does not mean you can't relax with a nice drink too. So here is some advice on which wine to match with which TV show.

There are plenty of light-hearted and laughable TV shows to watch during this lockdown - from classics such as Friends, to long-running fun such as the Big Bang Theory, or slightly absurd and over-enthusiastic Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt... And according to Karissa Kruse, president of Sonoma County Winegrowers, it is the perfect occasion to indulge in some bubbles. "Bubbles always give us a feeling of lighthearted celebration, perfect for those times when you just need a laugh", she says.

Horror: Sauvignon Blanc

Fan-favourites such as Stranger Things or The Walking Dead could be great programs to watch in order to take your mind off things... But make sure to relax and not get too scared! According to the expert, Sauvignon Blanc is a great choice to match with horror and suspense, as it "is known to be dry and crisp, just like most main characters in a scary show". So get your wine glass out and get ready for a good session!

Romantic shows: Rosé

And if you feel like you need some romance and emotions, head straight for some of these shows, from classics to new versions or originals, such as How I Met Your Mother, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, or even The Carrie Diaries. And what would be best to watch it with than a good glass of rosé? Not only does rosé evoke romance thanks to its colour, it also does in terms of flavours, with strawberries, melon, kiwi, or even rose petal notes.

Action: Pinot Noir

And finally, if you feel like staying at home can be a little too slow for you, and need some good action and movement to get your motivation up, don't hesitate to binge on good action, such as Jessica Jones, Narcos, or Daredevil. It pairs perfectly with a good Pinot Noir because, as Kruse says, "Pinot Noir can be nuanced and layered, leaving you on the edge of your seat, or it can be deep and intense, providing a rush of enticing flavors. Few wines inspire like versatile Pinot Noir. Fruity and lush, it's a perfect pairing for a heart-racing car chase or world-wide robot domination."
