    The Gulf of Thailand offers hundreds of islands, making it a fantastic place for a beach vacation. There are plenty of options, but the most popular choices are in the southeastern coast, near Phuket. The Phi Phi Islands, an archipelago of 6 stunning islands, are a prime destination. With cream-white beaches and a laid-back atmosphere, it is a great spot for water sports, nature lovers and party goers alike. Thailand's second-largest island, Koh Samui, is also a must-see, as it offers many idyllic beaches, entertaining cabarets and a very rich culture. Home to the Full Moon Party, one of the most famous parties in the world, Koh Phangan should be on top of your travel bucket list. It is a fantastic place thanks to its cafe culture, night markets and pristine beaches such as Bottle Beach, Haad Yao and Haad Salad.

A true symbol of paradise, Boracay is a gorgeous beach with azure waters, palm trees and soft white sands. And with its jaw-dropping lakes and lagoons, shipwreck dives and fabulous hot springs, Coron is a place not to be missed while visiting the Philippines.

Thanks to its influences from civilisations such as the Minoans, the Mycenaeans, the Ottoman Turks, the Arabs and the Venetians, it is a fascinating place to visit. It also offers wonderful gastronomy, paradisiac islets and many water sports or hiking options. Finally, you should also visit the Ionian Islands (which includes Corfu with its baroque and classical architecture), as they are incredible places for wine tourism, magnificent beaches that have often been voted in the "Top beaches in the world" list and are an ideal sailing destination, in particular for beginner sailors.

But you should definitely also go and visit Savusavu, as it is home to very renowned pearl farms, and impressive volcanic pools. Finally, head to the Mamanuca Islands (which might be an island-hopping destination in itself as there are 20 of them), particularly appreciated for their surfing options, blue waters and coral reefs. You will even get the chance to walk in Tom Hanks' footsteps if you head to Monuriki, famous today for being the location of the movie Cast Away.
