Discover Bwindi National Park Uganda

Bwindi National Park stretches over 127 sq mi near the border with Zaire. This is the habitat of the last remaining mountain gorillas. This Ugandan park alone hosts half the population of the great primates listed in the world. Several sub-families exist, some of which are familiar with human contact. In order to access the park, it is essential to make a reservation with the Ugandan Wildlife Authority Service in Kampala. Due to the limited places available, this organisation is sparing with the permits.

Although some of the groups of mountain gorillas in Bwindi have grown used to human contact, access to them is regulated. They are closely monitored in order to protect them against the threat of poachers.
