
Most of the luxury hotels with their audacious designs are to be found along the beaches of Jumeirah, creating a sort "Las Vegas" by the sea. Of them, the grandest is the Burj Al Arab. This luxury hotel (the tallest in the world) is in a tower block 1,050 ft high in the shape of a sail. For protection, it , it was built on an artificial island facing the beaches of Jumeirah. Some 656 ft above sea level, the panoramic restaurant offers a spectacular view of the Gulf.
