Sharjah is full of activities thanks to its many parks and recreation centres, valleys and deserts, and sunny sandy beaches. The Al Qasba Canal is known for being the Venice of Sharjah: 1,000m long, this canal is one of the most popular destinations among tourists and families, thanks to its many cultural attractions, entertainment opportunities and spots for relaxing. Don't miss out on the suspense and enthusiasm of the F1 Powerboat World Championship; the boats reach speeds of more than 140mph. Spectators can watch this annual event for free from Khalid Lagoon. The Sharjah Golf & Shooting Club is not only a first-class 9-hole golf course on a beautiful site, its restaurant is one of best in the city and is a magnet for tourists and locals alike. Of course, activities such as camel rides, excursions in the desert, sand-skiing and boat rides in the lagoon are all on the agenda.
