In Lahaina, and old fishing port on Maui Island, walk around the preserved historical neighbourhood of whalers and the Baldwin Home, on Front Street. The western-style mansion, with its old furniture, has kept its character from the 19th century. Moored next to the pleasure port, notice Carthaginian II, a 90-feet long sailing boat. On its deck, in a small museum, become familiar with humpback whales and appreciate the whales' songs. Walking up Front Street, visit Who Hing Temple, a Chinese sanctuary and its museum, dedicated to the local Chinese community.
