The paradise of gambling and excesses: everything here comes down to a single street, which has become an outdoor funfare for adults. On the Strip, you will see all the great casino-hotels of Las Vegas, such as the Bellagio, the MGM, the Luxor and the New York New York... These are real funfares and if you have the time, make a quick visit of each hotel and discover the different themes. If you feel like you've had enough of this 'crazy' world, there is a lot to see in this region, particularly the national parks that surround Las Vegas. Bryce Canyon or Zion are not too far away by car, and you are sure to discover something entirely different !

Getting there: British Airways flies direct between London and Las Vegas every day of the week.
For internal flights in the US, Jet Set offers numerous possibilities. Combined offers for 'deserts and casinos', 'parks and casinos' and many other combinations are scheduled departing from the UK.

Las Vegas: what to do?

Take a gamble in the casinos; visit the hotels (all of them fanfares with their own themes), and go to see some of the numerous shows put on every evening in the hotels. Some of them are free, others you need to pay for. For paying shows, there are certain ticket offices that offer discounts on rates.
If you have a little time ahead of you, you should visit the surrounding national parks, such as Zion or Bryce Canyon, where you can relax in the most peaceful of settings.

Visit the various casino-hotels as they each have their own specific atmosphere. To see another side of Las Vegas, you should visit old Vegas, on Fremont Street, where you will find the first casinos; the atmosphere is quaint and outdated and you should go there in the evening as the entire street is lit by hundreds of light bulbs.

  • Gamblers' paradise
  • Casino-hotels resemble funfares
  • Numerous shows are held every evening
  • The ideal departure point for visiting the surrounding national parks
  • Too noisy
  • Everything is designed to make you spend your money or gamble it away Be careful with your wallet
  • Not the most relaxing of places

Parks and reserves

Reminders

Try to take the odd breather from the casino as time flies when you're busy spending all your money playing Russian roulette.

To avoid

Be careful not to blow all your money at the Casino ! In the evening, try to stay clear of the infamous red light district of Las Vegas in the old town. It is full of narrow streets where the night's gambling losers congregate.

Las Vegas: what to eat?

You're in America, you have to try one of their burgers, they are better here than anywhere else, and even if you're not that into burgers, give them a try, you'll be surprised. In Las Vegas, you will find food from all over the world. Each hotel houses a number of restaurants that offer dishes from all over the planet.

Las Vegas: what to buy?

There are countless kitsch souvenirs on sale in the numerous shops in Las Vegas. There are also many shopping malls where you are sure to find some bargains.
