Things to see in Southern USA
Amy Adejokun
Amy Adejokun Section editor

From the saloons of Texas to the blues trails in Mississippi and Graceland, the home of the late Elvis Presley, the south of the United States is a gigantic museum that takes visitors on a journey to the heart of a cultural heritage recognised worldwide. There are many historic sites that remind us of a history marked by the displacement of the Native Americans, the Civil War and slavery. Visitors can learn about space at the NASA centre in Houston or about the Civil Rights Movement at the National Civil Rights Museum in Memphis, and then have some fun at the many festivals that take place in the south of the United States. As for nature buffs, they won't be disappointed by this mysterious and wild universe as they discover the bayous of Louisiana and drift down the waters of the Mississippi, for a voyage that can't be experienced elsewhere in the world.

Enogastronomy

Spicy and colourful cuisine awaits you in the southern United States. Visitors will be able to try the fried catfish of Mississippi, Tex-Mex cuisine, and the traditional gumbo soup of Louisiana. Don't forget to visit a Tabasco factory or one of the many Bourbon distilleries!
